About The Position

Macalogic is seeking an Oracle Database Administrator to provide expertise and administration for the Air Force’s Job Order Cost Accounting System (JOCAS) and the Comptroller Financial Information System (CFIS) at Patrick AFB, FLA and Vandenburg AFB, CA. The role requires a deep understanding of Oracle 12 and 19c, database management, technical support for system and data issues, Oracle database installations and patching, product configuration, and troubleshooting across multiple instantiations. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, management information systems, Engineering, or related field.
  • An active CompTIA Security+ or equivalent certification is required.
  • Must either possess or be able to obtain a secret security clearance.
  • 3+ years as an Oracle DBA, supporting R12c or higher.
  • Experience with database management of Oracle databases.
  • Experience and expertise performing in a technical environment that includes web-based applications, Oracle Databases, Windows servers, and UNIX servers.
  • Hands-on experience in Oracle EBS database management systems with emphasis on Oracle R12c and above.
  • Knowledge and experience providing operations and management support for Oracle Servers which includes installation, patches, backups, modifying scripts for data and performance testing.
  • Expertise in Oracle Critical upgrades, Operating System upgrades, quarterly patches, and application upgrades.
  • Expertise in the extraction, loading, and verification of data to target databases.
  • Knowledge and expertise in emergency system service outage troubleshooting.
  • Support database configuration, monitoring, and tuning.
  • Knowledge of PKI Certificates and implementation.
  • Experience with database backup and recovery.
  • Demonstrated experience in engineering performance and availability of solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience with Air Force/DoW Comptroller Financial Management processes/procedures and data.
  • Knowledge and experience with maintaining LOUIS II and Oracle scripts, loading data, and testing and making data corrections as necessary.
  • Supporting ad hoc queries and maintaining queries on a regular basis.
  • Experience with ensuring the integrity of data inputs, performing research, and providing answers to questions asked by users concerning production data.
  • Experience performing research and resolving data discrepancies between source and target systems.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to manage work efforts with minimal leadership oversight.
  • Must have excellent analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Must also have excellent time-management skills as well as excellent oral, written, organizational, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment with members that include personnel from other companies, Government program management and administrative personnel, and technical staff members.

  • Experience with Air Force/DoW financial management data is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support multiple production environments, including monitoring daily operations.
  • Perform critical Oracle patching, support/perform operating system patching.
  • Provide daily troubleshooting to ensure high availability of databases and associated applications.
  • Develop and execute PL/SQL scripts.
  • Perform data modeling and evaluate database changes based on functionality updates.
  • Recommend and perform updates to the configuration and design of multiple databases.
  • Ensure quality control and auditing of databases for accurate and appropriate data use.
  • Consult with and advise users on database access.
  • Work directly with users to resolve data conflicts and inappropriate data usage.
  • Ensure proper data loading from external target systems.
  • Monitor databases and application performance.
  • Perform tuning of the application and database as necessary.
  • Provide Oracle database expertise and administration.
  • Provide database management and technical support to address system, database, and data issues that inhibit production processing.
  • Perform Oracle database installations and patching.
  • Provide knowledge and expertise surrounding product configuration.
  • Perform troubleshooting across multiple instantiations.
  • Provide surge support during year-end financial processing.
