About The Position

Monterey Park Hospital, a 101-acute care facility, is seeking an OR Tech II for its OR Department. This full-time, 8-hour evening shift position reports to the Surgical Services Director. The OR Technician II performs a variety of technical duties to assist the surgical team and/or endoscopic team with surgical/endoscopy (GI) procedures. This includes preparing and maintaining the sterile field with required instruments and supplies to complete designated surgical procedures efficiently and cost-effectively. The role involves pulling, preparing, setting-up, and scrubbing routine, urgent, and emergency surgical and endoscopy procedures. Additionally, the OR Technician II assists in maintaining supply levels, cleaning, and decontaminating equipment and instruments. This position may provide direct patient care to adolescent, adult, geriatric patients, and children, requiring successful completion of appropriate age-specific competencies.

Requirements

• Diploma from an accredited Surgical Tech Program
• Current BLS (AHA)

Nice To Haves

• Current Operating Room Technician Certification within 2 years of hire

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of technical duties to assist the surgical team and/or endoscopic team with surgical/endoscopy (GI) procedures
• Assist the surgical/GI team in preparing and maintaining the sterile field with surgical and/or endoscopic procedures with the required instruments and supplies to complete the designated surgical procedure efficiently and cost effectively
• Pull, prepare, set-up and scrub routine, urgent and emergency surgical and endoscopy procedures
• Perform other duties as required under the supervision of the Director/Charge RN or Staff RN
• Assist in the maintenance of supply levels, cleaning and decontamination of equipment and instruments when needed
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director or Charge RN within their scope of practice
• Provide direct patient care to adolescent, adult, geriatric patients and children
