About The Position

The OR Tech I provides direct and indirect care to patients and families as assigned, under the direction and supervision of a physician and/or Registered Nurse. The position follows institutional safety standards to support safe and efficient patient care delivery and systematically collects assessment data, emphasizing physiological, psychosocial, environmental, and cognitive patient status. Practice is limited to the technician’s training and follows Valley Children’s Healthcare policies.

The role is part of the Pediatric Perioperative Department, which operates 12 operating rooms and supports procedural services across the healthcare system. The technician works with surgeons or proceduralists, anesthesiologists, and specialty technicians as part of a team to set up procedures and support safety and quality during surgery.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Successful completion of an Operating Room Technician training program.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association within 30 days of hire or transfer into the position.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.

• At least six months of related experience.

Responsibilities
