About The Position

The Surgery Center of Ft. Lauderdale is seeking a Full-time OR/GI (RN) Manager. This role involves establishing effective working relationships with patients, physicians, employees, and vendors. The manager will coordinate special equipment and supply needs, identify and remedy issues through continuous customer satisfaction data and employee involvement, and work with the Administrator to meet facility goals. Responsibilities include overseeing surgery, anesthesia, and sterile processing services, and assisting as an RN Circulator when necessary. The position serves as a clinical resource for perioperative services staff, evaluates current practice through quality improvement measures, and demonstrates effective communication and collaboration skills. The manager will coordinate and manage change, serve on multidisciplinary teams, use conflict resolution techniques, and operationally and fiscally manage the perioperative services department. Data collection and analysis for perioperative services, participation in staff interviews, and staff performance evaluation are also key duties. The role requires acting as a role model of professional behavior, assessing the organizational political climate, ensuring appropriate personnel, equipment, and supplies are available, and pursuing professional growth.

Requirements

  • Associates in nursing from an approved nursing school required
  • Five (5) years of nursing experience
  • Current OR RN license
  • Current certification in BLS

Nice To Haves

  • BSN preferred
  • Three (3) years of operating room experience preferred
  • ASC / HOPD management experience preferred
  • ACLS & PALS within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Establishes effective working relationships with all constituencies including patients, physicians, employees and vendors.
  • Coordinates special equipment, supply and equipment needs for cases working closely with the materials manager.
  • Identifies and remedies through continuous customer satisfaction data and employee involvement.
  • Works with the Administrator in meeting Facility goals.
  • Oversees surgery, anesthesia, and sterile processing services.
  • Assists as RN Circulator as necessary.
  • Serves as a clinical resource for perioperative services staff members using evidence-based knowledge and prevailing standards.
  • Evaluates current practice through quality and performance improvement measures.
  • Demonstrates effective communication and collaboration skills with members of the perioperative team and other stakeholders.
  • Coordinates, facilitates, and manages change within the health care organization.
  • Serves as a member of a multidisciplinary team in planning perioperative patient care.
  • Uses effective conflict resolution techniques.
  • Operationally and fiscally manages the perioperative services department.
  • Collects and analyzes data that applies to perioperative services to facilitate collaboration and negotiation with stakeholders.
  • Participates in interviews for staff selection.
  • Evaluates staff member performance.
  • Serves as a role model of professional behavior.
  • Assesses the political climate within the organization.
  • Ensures that the appropriate personnel, equipment, and supplies are available.
