About The Position

The OR Equipment Specialist supports safe and efficient surgical care by ensuring the availability, functionality, and regulatory compliance of operating room equipment. The role is responsible for equipment setup, maintenance, troubleshooting, and documentation to minimize downtime and support positive patient outcomes. The specialist performs other duties as assigned and carries out all responsibilities in alignment with Kettering Health's mission, vision, values, and B Safe program.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of experience in equipment maintenance, repair, or a related technical field.
• Knowledge of medical and surgical equipment operation and maintenance.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
• Familiarity with regulatory standards, including OSHA and other regulatory agencies.
• Strong organizational and documentation skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication.
• Ability to train and support clinical staff.
• Attention to safety and infection control procedures.
• Basic computer proficiency for inventory and recordkeeping.

Nice To Haves

• Associate's degree in biomedical technology, engineering, or a related technical field.
• Experience in a healthcare or surgical services environment.
• Certification as a Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET) or similar credential.
