About The Position

The Medical College of Wisconsin's Department of Ophthalmology & Visual Sciences is seeking an Optometrist to join their expanding team. This role will be primarily located at the Eye Institute in Milwaukee, WI, on the Froedtert Hospital Campus, with some days spent at satellite clinics. The department is composed of a dedicated group of faculty and staff with a strong commitment to clinical care, aiming to improve, restore, and preserve sight through comprehensive patient care, innovative research, and education.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of comprehensive, medically oriented optometric care.
  • Proficient in refraction, ocular disease diagnosis, and management.
  • Experience with contact lens fitting and management.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective communicator with patients, physicians, and the general public.
  • Commitment to advancing MCW’s academic missions in clinical care, education, and scholarly activity.
  • Doctorate in Optometry.
  • Post-graduate residency in appropriate optometric specialty.
  • Eligibility for a Wisconsin Optometric license.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive optometric services for patients of the Eye Institute and affiliated clinics.
  • Work with Eye Institute and affiliated clinic staff to promote high customer service and satisfaction to maximize productivity and ensure access for patients seeking optometric services.
  • Participate in Eye Institute system-wide quality improvement projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
