Locum Tenens Optometrist (1099) $155–$165/Hour
About The Position
ATC Healthcare Northwest is seeking a qualified Locum Tenens Optometrist for a 13-week assignment at correctional healthcare facilities in Madras and Ontario, Oregon. The role offers $155–$165 per hour and may be part-time or full-time depending on the location. The position involves providing essential eye care to an underserved patient population. Previous correctional healthcare experience is preferred but not required. ATC Healthcare has provided healthcare staffing solutions for nearly 40 years. Requirements
- Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited optometry program.
- Active Oregon optometry license or ability to obtain the required license before the assignment begins.
- Previous clinical optometry experience.
- Strong clinical assessment, communication, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently in a structured correctional healthcare environment.

Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive eye examinations and vision screenings.
- Diagnose and manage common eye conditions and diseases.
- Prescribe corrective lenses and medications as appropriate and within the scope of licensure.
- Develop treatment plans and recommend appropriate follow-up care.
- Maintain accurate and timely patient records.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to support continuity of care.
- Educate patients on eye health, vision correction, and preventive care.
- Follow applicable clinical standards, facility protocols, and professional practice requirements.
