About The Position

Vision Quest Solutions is recruiting up to two qualified contract optometrists for an anticipated assignment at Woodrow Wilson Keeble Memorial Health Care Center in Sisseton, South Dakota. This is a pre-award recruiting opportunity; employment depends on contract award and completion of IHS credentialing and onboarding.

The anticipated schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The assignment is expected to last one year, with final dates to be confirmed. The anticipated start date is December 1, 2026, subject to award and confirmation. There is no work on recognized federal holidays or government-directed facility closures. Pay and housing, travel, and lodging arrangements are to be confirmed.

Requirements

• Doctor of Optometry degree from an ACOE-accredited program.
• Current, active, unrestricted optometry license from a U.S. state, territory, the District of Columbia, or Puerto Rico.
• Completion of a one-year accredited residency or one year of professional optometry experience within the past 24 months.
• Current Basic Life Support certification.
• Electronic health record proficiency and fluent English communication.
• Ability to meet IHS credentialing, privileging, employee-health, and background requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide outpatient optometric care to patients of all ages, averaging 12–16 patients daily.
• Perform eye examinations and diagnose, treat, and manage visual and ocular conditions within approved clinical privileges.
• Provide patient education, referrals, and follow-up care.
• Maintain accurate and timely electronic health records.
• Collaborate with clinical staff to support culturally sensitive patient care.
