About The Position

FYidoctors in Castlegar and Trail are recruiting for a full time Optometrist to join their practice in the West Kootenays of British Columbia. The clinics have been serving these communities for over 30 years, presenting a fantastic opportunity for the incoming OD to walk into a full book of patients. The OD's are well supported by a talented and experienced team that provides pretesting support and manages the dispensary and patient fittings. Doctors are currently seeing 15-20 patients per day, with the vast majority being full exams. The population groups in Trail and Castlegar are diverse, with a nice variety of patients from young children to elderly patients who have been attending the clinic a long time. The role offers flexibility in scheduling, with the scope and patient volume for an OD to be busy 5 days per week split between the two clinics (25 minutes apart). Alternatively, practicing 3 or 4 days per week allows for excellent work-life balance and the ability to take advantage of the region's fantastic outdoor activities.

Requirements

• Doctor of Optometry (OD) qualification.
• Ability to manage a full book of patients.
• Experience with diverse patient demographics, including children and elderly.
• Willingness to split time between Castlegar and Trail clinics, or work a flexible schedule (3-4 days/week).

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a Doctor Owned eye care provider setting.
• Familiarity with the West Kootenays region of British Columbia.

Responsibilities
