About The Position

This position examines, diagnoses, treats and manages diseases, injuries, and disorders of the visual system, the eye, and associated structures. This position prescribes eyeglasses and/or contact lenses as necessary and identifies related systemic conditions affecting the eye.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited School of Optometry
• Licensed as an optometrist in the State of Hawaii
• Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships and supporting/facilitating positive team interaction/development
• Skill and ability to operate varied office equipment
• Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing and understand verbal and written communications
• Ability to perform complex mathematical calculations
• Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time
• Ability to interpret and apply guidelines and procedures
• Ability to act calmly and tactfully in stressful or confrontational situations
• Ability to work in a high-volume, sometimes stressful environment
• Ability to be accurate and attentive to detail

Nice To Haves

• 2 years’ experience in optometric patient care
