This role offers strong collaboration with primary care providers, clinical autonomy, and the opportunity to serve rural populations across Northern Maine. POSITION OVERVIEW The Optometrist provides comprehensive eye care services including routine exams, diagnosis, and treatment of ocular conditions. This role collaborates closely with primary care providers as part of an integrated care team while maintaining independence in clinical decision making. Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of optometry
- Active Maine Optometrist license or ability to obtain
- Current CPR certification
- Strong clinical and communication skills
- Commitment to patient centered care
Nice To Haves
- Experience in rural or community based care preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive eye exams and vision care
- Diagnose and treat ocular conditions and diseases
- Prescribe corrective lenses and treatment plans
- Provide emergency eye care as needed
- Collaborate with primary care and interdisciplinary team
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation
