About The Position
The Visionworks OD Tech/Optometric Assistant is the face of the exam practice and helps ensure a positive patient experience. The role requires knowledge of eye health, preliminary testing, optics, products and services, and managed vision care. The technician guides patients through the first steps of their Visionworks experience and supports their eye exam needs.
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent related job experience.
Nice To Haves
- Related customer or patient experience is preferred but not necessary.
Responsibilities
- Maintain complete and accurate patient records before conducting preliminary testing.
- Introduce patients to the optometrist and provide the optometrist with important patient information.
- Transition patients from the doctor to the sales floor and give associates information to help educate patients and recommend products and services that meet their eye care needs.
- Support daily operations and patient experience goals by restocking inventory, cleaning equipment, and answering phones to meet additional patient needs.
- Open and close the store or office as needed to support the business.
