About The Position

A Visionworks OD Tech/Optometric Assistant is the face of the exam practice and helps ensure a positive patient journey. The role involves knowledge of eye health, preliminary testing, optics, products and services, and managed vision care. The technician guides patients through the initial steps of their Visionworks experience and helps meet their eye exam needs. The position is full time and pays $12 to $13.50 per hour.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent related job experience.

Nice To Haves

• Related customer or patient experience is preferred, but not necessary.

Responsibilities

• Maintain complete and accurate patient records before conducting preliminary testing.
• Introduce the patient to the OD and provide the OD with important patient information.
• Transition patients from the doctor to the sales floor and provide associates with information to educate patients and recommend products and services that meet their eye care needs.
• Support daily exam-lane operations and patient experience goals, including restocking inventory, cleaning equipment, and answering phones to meet additional patient needs.
• Open and close the store or office as needed to support the business.
