About The Position

Midwest Eye Consultants in Shelbyville is looking for a friendly and motivated Optometric Technician to join their clinic. This is a part-time position with a wage of $16.00-$18.00 per hour, depending on knowledge, skills, and experience. The clinic provides hands-on training, experienced trainers, and a mentor to help new hires succeed. The role involves working closely with doctors and patients to ensure smooth patient visits and to provide doctors with necessary information for excellent care. • Visual acuity to ensure accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness in assigned work

Nice To Haves

• No experience in the medical field is required as training is provided.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for eye examinations by explaining the features and benefits of our preliminary testing procedures
• Perform preliminary and doctor requested tests on patients
• Assist optometrists and ophthalmologists during patient procedures
• Coordinate patient scheduling and help maintain smooth patient flow throughout the office while communicating delays when needed
• Prepare exam rooms by cleaning instruments and maintaining inventory of medications and supplies
• Help maintain a safe, clean, organized, and welcoming environment for both patients and staff
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the office manager, team lead, or doctors
