About The Position

Optometric / Ophthalmic Assistant Location: Cape Coral, FL 33904 About Tyson Eye Tyson Eye is seeking a motivated candidate who is a CPOA, OMA, COA or wishes to become a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) or Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT). We encourage ongoing training and provide pay increases once certifications are achieved. We are committed to helping you increase your earning potential! Tyson Eye promotes from within and supports our team members in advancing their careers and earning potential. The majority of our technicians become Certified Ophthalmic Assistants (COA) within 18 months of joining our team. Our current technicians are cross-trained in Optometry, general Ophthalmology, Retina, Lasik, Cataract, and our research department. Requirements

  • Current certification as CPOA, OMA, COA or willingness to become a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) or Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT)
  • Strong commitment to ongoing education and professional development
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills

Responsibilities

  • Review patient chart(s)
  • Work up patients for eye exams
  • Open and close exam rooms
  • Provide the highest quality of customer service
  • Perform diagnostic tests including OCT, Retina Camera, Visual Field, Goldmann tonometry, OPD, IOL master, and others
  • Screen patients for clinical trials
