About The Position
Excelitas Technologies, a leader in photonics and frequency tunable laser solutions, is seeking an intern to support data modernization efforts within our wafer fabrication operations. This 8‑week, on‑site internship offers hands‑on experience with manufacturing data processing, code migration, and basic image analysis. An extension may be available based on performance and project needs.
Requirements
- This position requires the use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)
- Visa sponsorship is not available for any position at Excelitas
Nice To Haves
- Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Applied Physics, or related fields.
- Exposure to C#, Python, SQL or LabVIEW.
- Interest in image analysis or feature extraction.
Responsibilities
- Clean, standardize, and prepare wafer‑fab data for database upload.
- Support data validation and documentation of data sources and formats.
- Assist in converting legacy code (ex., VB6 to C#.NET), including code translation and functional checks.
- Perform basic image feature analysis (e.g., particle counting) and label data for future ML or AI workflows.
