About The Position
Excelitas is a global technology leader with more than 7,500 employees, focused on delivering market-driven solutions to fulfill the illumination, optical, detection and imaging needs of OEMs and end-users across the biomedical, semiconductor, industrial, consumer products, scientific, security, defense and aerospace sectors. Excelitas Technologies, a leader in photonics and frequency tunable laser solutions, is seeking an intern to support the Electrical Engineering and Laser module teams. This 8‑week, on‑site internship offers hands‑on experience with electronics, optical and mechanical assemblies. An extension may be available based on performance and project needs.
Requirements
- Pursuing a degree in Optical, Mechanical, Electronics Engineering or related fields.
- Mechanical/electrical skills
- Ability to solder wires and connectors
- Ability to read and interpret schematic designs
Responsibilities
- Assemble, align, and test opto-mechanical components, fiber-optic sensors, and laser systems and test boxes.
- Document process steps and test findings
- Collect, process, and interpret data from experiments to optimize performance
- Contribute to research reports.
