About The Position

As an Opto/Mechanical Technician at MKS, you will be responsible for the advanced assembly of optical systems. You will prepare subassembly components, follow written procedures or drawings, and assemble and debug systems incorporating optical, mechanical, and electronic components. You will also test each level of assembly at the system level using laboratory instruments, performing alignment, optimization, and stability checks. Packaging the final assembly daily is also part of the role, and cross-training is required.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of related experience for Level 2
  • The ability to work in a clean room environment
  • Experience entering data numbers into Microsoft Excel spreadsheets templates
  • The ability to speak, read, and write in English

Nice To Haves

  • 0-2 years of related experience for Level 1

Responsibilities

  • Audit 1-2 work order kits from warehouse to confirm pieces and part numbers
  • Prepare subassembly components
  • Follow written procedures or drawings
  • Assemble and debug systems incorporating optical, mechanical, and electronic components
  • Test each level of assembly (4-5 processes) at the system level using laboratory instruments
  • Perform alignment, optimization, stability, transmission, etc.
  • Package the final assembly daily (if assembly is completed)
  • Cross training is required (trainee and/or trainer)
