The primary function of this role is to help customers find eyeglasses and contact lenses that are the best match for each patient while providing the highest levels of quality and care. This role involves determining the reason for the patient’s visit, identifying lifestyle needs, and delivering recommendations for eyewear needs following the prescription given by their optometrist. It also includes attracting and retaining customers by delivering exceptional customer service, fostering customer retention, and promoting outstanding patient satisfaction. The Optician will assist customers in the selection of frames and coordinate frames with optical measurements and prescription, recommend specific lenses, lens coatings, and frames to suit customer needs, occupations, habits, and facial features. Additionally, the role involves taking measurements, assisting patients with adjustments and/or troubleshooting, dispensing eyewear, and ensuring correct pricing and realistic delivery time quotes. The Optician will also communicate enthusiastically and concisely to meet and exceed patient expectations, foster positive relationships with team members, clean and merchandise displays daily, assist with insurance billing and processing orders, and document all patient communication in the practice software system. Special projects and other related duties as assigned are also part of the role.
