About The Position

Warby Parker is seeking skilled, enthusiastic Opticians to join its in-house optical team. The role involves helping customers with their eyewear needs and delivering knowledgeable, attentive service to both returning customers and first-time wearers. Opticians will develop expertise in the brand and its products, support customers in choosing suitable eyewear, and work collaboratively with teammates to provide exceptional service and strengthen sales and customer-service practices. Requirements

• Be a licensed dispensing optician in states that require a license, or an ABO-certified optician in non-licensing states.
• Have a passion for the eyewear and retail industries.
• Communicate clearly, effectively, and professionally, including explaining technical terms to customers.
• Be dedicated to going above and beyond for customers and teammates.
• Be an energetic, positive team player who can adapt in a fast-paced, changing work environment.
• Be detail-oriented and able to juggle a wide range of responsibilities.
• Be open-minded and committed to ongoing learning.
• Not be listed on the Office of Inspector General's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).

Responsibilities

• Work directly with customers to meet their eyewear needs.
• Take and record measurements, adjust and fit eyewear accurately.
• Check finished eyewear against optical standards and customer requirements and requests.
• Explain prescription terminology and product offerings to customers.
• Work with the team to ensure customers receive exceptional service.
• Help customers select frames and lenses suited to their prescription needs, fit, personal style, and lifestyle.
• Collaborate with the team to develop sales and customer-service best practices that can be implemented throughout the organization.
• Represent the brand and educate others about its values and mission.
