About The Position

This private optometry office has been serving the Bay Area for over 50 years and continues to grow! They are seeking a full-time Optician with a proven track record in optical sales to join their outstanding team in San Jose, CA. The role involves providing exceptional customer service and eyewear sales support in a fast-paced, multi-doctor practice. Key responsibilities include accurately quoting and processing VSP and Eyemed insurance, guiding patients through frame and lens selection, ensuring precise fitting and adjustments of eyewear, and maintaining organized records and inventory. The schedule is full-time, 4 days per week, with an alternating schedule for weekend coverage. Office hours are Mon-Fri 10 am–7 pm, Sat 9 am–7 pm, Sun 11 am–6 pm. Compensation is $20–$35 per hour, plus commissions.

Requirements

• Relevant eye care experience (licensure not required)
• Strong knowledge of VSP and Eyemed insurance quoting and processing
• Positive attitude and great energy
• Commitment to providing exceptional client care and fostering a welcoming environment

• Reliable transportation to and from the clinic
