About The Position

The Optical Shop Team Leader oversees the daily operations of our Optical Shop while supporting the Optometrist and Health Center Manager in delivering exceptional patient care. This role combines leadership, retail optical expertise, and patient service. You’ll help guide staff, support patients through their eyewear journey, manage inventory and vendor relationships, and ensure a welcoming, high-quality experience for every patient.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a retail optical environment
• Bilingual in Spanish and English
• Experience with optical dispensing software and inventory systems
• Strong communication, leadership, and customer service skills

Responsibilities

• Lead, train, and support Optical Shop team members
• Deliver exceptional customer service throughout the patient journey
• Assist patients with frame, lens, and contact lens selections
• Educate patients on eyewear and vision care options
• Manage inventory, ordering, and vendor relationships
• Oversee optical lab orders and workflow
• Ensure accurate billing, insurance processing, and payment collection
• Address patient concerns with professionalism and empathy
• Collaborate with providers, staff, and leadership to maintain smooth operations
