About The Position

Warby Parker is seeking an Optical Supervisor to join their team of in-house optical professionals. This role involves creating exceptional customer experiences through optical expertise, a friendly demeanor, and product knowledge. The supervisor will also act as a keyholder, responsible for opening and closing the store, maintaining internal operations, and fostering a positive and productive work environment for opticians and retail advisors. The ideal candidate is an energetic self-starter and lifelong learner eager to contribute to Warby Parker's growth.

Requirements

  • A licensed dispensing optician in states that require a license or an ABO-certified optician in non-licensing states.
  • 2+ years of experience, including supervisor responsibilities.
  • Passionate about the eyewear and retail industries.
  • Clear, effective, and professional communicator, able to break down technical terms for customers.
  • Dedicated to going above-and-beyond to make customers and teammates happy.
  • Energetic, positive team player adaptable to a fast-paced, ever-changing work environment.
  • Extremely detail-oriented, cool under pressure, and capable of juggling a wide range of responsibilities.
  • Open-minded, constantly learning and challenging existing knowledge.
  • Takes work seriously but not oneself.
  • Not on the Office of Inspector General's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with customers to meet all of their eyewear needs.
  • Take and record measurements, adjust and fit eyewear with accuracy.
  • Ensure finished eyewear meets optical standards and customer requirements.
  • Explain prescription terminology and product offerings to customers.
  • Ensure all operational, service, and staff zoning procedures are executed to Warby Parker standards.
  • Drive store vision and sales by providing excellent service and acting as the main contact for customer and operational questions.
  • Lead and mentor the Optical team, including participants of the Optician Apprentice Program, and exemplify great service.
  • Help maintain general store systems, inventory databases, and business operations.
  • Foster and support a productive, positive employee culture in the store.
