About The Position

The Virginia Eye Institute (VEI) is hiring a full-time optical sales associate to join their busy practice. VEI is a large and dynamic practice of ophthalmologists and optometrists in the Richmond, VA area.

Requirements

Full-time availability
Ability to process patient paperwork.
Ability to answer, screen, and forward incoming phone calls in accordance with NVI protocol.
Ability to answer the phone promptly within 3 rings.
Ability to process and understand managed care plans.
Ability to obtain and document information from the insurance company as needed.
Ability to provide customers basic and accurate information.
Ability to participate in regularly scheduled mandatory communications meetings.
Ability to perform nightly financial closings and bank deposits.

Responsibilities

Greets and welcomes patients in a friendly manner as soon as they arrive in optical locations.
Provides prompt, courteous service to patients either on the phone or in person.
Ensures high quality customer service.
Ensures a smooth flow of customers through the store by processing patient’s paperwork.
Answers, screens, and forwards incoming phone calls in accordance with NVI protocol.
Provides a good first impression by answering the phone promptly within 3 rings and helpful tone.
Processes and understands managed care plans.
Obtains and documents information from the insurance company as needed.
Provides customers basic and accurate information.
Participates in regularly scheduled mandatory communications meetings in order to keep informed of changes in corporate policies and initiatives.
Responsible for nightly financial closings and bank deposits.
Other duties as assigned.
