About The Position
The Optical Retail Sales Associate, also known as a Retail Optician, primarily helps patients select eyeglass frames, lenses, and lens coatings that suit their needs. The role also supports payment and insurance processing, patient records, lab work orders, product inspection, frame adjustments and repairs, and merchandise management. Experience in the optical industry is preferred but not required; training is available.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Experience working in retail, customer service, or sales.

Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients.
- Maintain knowledge of current sales and promotions.
- Compute and process payment transactions and refunds.
- Process insurance claims efficiently.
- Maintain up-to-date product knowledge.
- Create and maintain patient files in accordance with company and HIPAA policies.
- Assess and interpret patients’ needs and wants.
- Take necessary measurements.
- Prepare work orders for the lab.
- Pull the correct lenses according to work order specifications.
- Inspect finished products for accuracy.
- Adjust or repair damaged frames.
- Price, stock, and straighten merchandise.
