About The Position

You will join our team working closely with seasoned engineers and mentors who will provide guidance for implementing leading-edge technologies. Under this guidance, provide vision, leadership, and direction in developing CACI strategic initiatives to address emerging photonics needs. Foster an entrepreneurial culture by leading and developing a team grounded in strong work ethic, dedication, and intellectual curiosity. Lead and support equipment and facilities expansion. Implement process-capability monitoring and improvement, including use of statistical process control. Provide direction in problem solving, product or process characterization, process-efficiency improvements, and continuous-improvement activities. Drive optimization of products for improved manufacturability, cycle time, and cost reductions. Work with design teams to ensure Design for Manufacturing (DFM) is incorporated into future products and supports successful manufacturing readiness review. Work with engineering to negotiate product specifications and print acceptance criteria. Travel to other CACI locations or customer sites as necessary (<10% travel). Perform other duties as required. Solve production issues with optics and mechanical assemblies. Possess strong optical and mechanical background.

Requirements

  • Proven experience leading a team of highly skilled manufacturing and test engineers
  • Ability to guide team members through solving manufacturing and test-engineering issues
  • Proven ability to influence design-for-manufacturing changes
  • Understanding of high-volume electro-optical manufacturing and test concepts
  • Highly self-motivated with the ability to drive projects to completion
  • Strong oral and written presentation skills
  • Ability to lead as well as work independently in a team environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
  • Four-year engineering degree (BS) from an accredited college
  • Ability to work in the office full-time

Nice To Haves

  • In-depth knowledge of complex photonics manufacturing
  • Knowledge of production test set-ups and software-development techniques
  • Familiarity with Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA), risk management, and change-management processes
  • Hands-on experience with photonics manufacturing/test equipment and tooling design
