About The Position

The Optical Dispenser at Bupa Optical in Norwood delivers customer service and supports sales and profit outcomes. The role involves interpreting optical prescriptions and fitting and servicing optical appliances, including spectacle frames and lenses. It also contributes to sales targets, promotions, and special campaigns.

The position provides customers with guidance on frame selections and lens options, and helps with frame adjustments and repairs. It monitors customer job requests and communicates delays, assists with HICAPS claims, and maintains customer records in line with Bupa guidelines. The Optical Dispenser also supports store operations, including stock-take, merchandising, store presentation, and cleanliness, and assists the Store Manager and State Manager with other activities as required.

Requirements

• Ideally, experience working as a retail assistant or optical dispenser.
• Must be a permanent resident, Australian citizen, or hold full working rights.
• Successful candidates must complete a criminal history check.

Responsibilities

• Interpret optical prescriptions and fit and service optical appliances, including spectacle frames and lenses.
• Provide customers with recommendations and guidance on frame selections and available lens options.
• Assist with frame adjustments and repairs as required.
• Contribute to sales targets and support promotions and special campaigns.
• Monitor customer job requests and notify customers of delays.
• Assist customers with HICAPS claims in accordance with Bupa guidelines and procedures.
• Update and maintain customer records in accordance with Bupa guidelines and procedures.
• Participate in activities that support smooth store operations, including stock-take, merchandising, store presentation, and cleanliness.
• Support the Store Manager and State Manager with other activities as required.
