This position is responsible for maintaining merchandise presentation in the Optical area, including stocking, organizing displays, and ensuring proper signage and pricing. The associate will also manage the sales floor according to company policies, handle claims and returns, and identify shrink and damages. Key duties include receiving and stocking merchandise, organizing the area, and completing necessary documentation. The role involves operating hardware like cash registers, processing member purchases, and handling payments, returns, refunds, and exchanges. A significant part of the job includes educating members on eyewear usage and care, supporting contact lens insertions and removals, and selling Optical products and services. This involves assisting members with purchasing decisions, performing frame adjustments and repairs, completing eyewear/contact lens orders, and verifying prescription information. The associate will accurately measure pupillary distance and position of wear for various lens types. They will also troubleshoot member non-adapt issues, communicate with labs and optometrists, process orders, monitor trial lens inventory, and ensure optical equipment is calibrated and clean. Performing final inspection of eyewear, including compound prism verification, is also required. The role may involve assisting with patient appointments, pre-testing, and recording results under the guidance of an optometrist, and embracing new technology to support OD services. Collecting payments for doctor/telehealth services and processing member visits by scheduling and confirming appointments are also part of the responsibilities. Maintaining and filing records in compliance with HIPAA and company procedures, and processing insurance claims and payments for eye care materials and doctor services are essential. The associate will complete assigned virtual and hands-on trainings, develop knowledge of eye anatomy and diagnostic testing, and participate in internal development opportunities. Where applicable, they will register with the state board for apprenticeship or permit to work and ensure no lapse in registration or certification.
