About The Position

The Clinical Supervisor (OPS) provides licensed clinical supervision and site oversight for counseling student interns placed in a rural community setting during the summer term. This role ensures that students receive appropriate supervision, adhere to ethical and professional standards, and maintain safety while delivering services in the community. The Supervisor coordinates with the partnering agency regarding scheduling, student activities, and site expectations, and provides emergency consultation and intervention when needed. This position supports the CCEC Summer Coordinator by ensuring that off campus training activities remain aligned with program standards, CACREP expectations, and university policies.

Requirements

  • Active clinical license (LMHC, LCSW, LMFT, Licensed Psychologist, or equivalent).
  • Experience providing clinical supervision to counseling trainees.
  • Ability to respond to emergencies and provide crisis guidance.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in rural or community‑based service settings.
  • Familiarity with CACREP standards and counseling training programs.
  • Experience coordinating with community agencies.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee student activities at the rural community site to ensure safety, professionalism, and adherence to program expectations.
  • Coordinate scheduling with the partnering agency (e.g., community foundation or rural service site).
  • Ensure students understand site procedures, expectations, and communication protocols.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between the agency and the university for summer placement.
  • Provide on-site licensed guidance for urgent or emergent situations involving student interns or clients.
  • Conduct brief risk assessments and determine appropriate next steps.
  • Consult with the School Director or CCEC Summer Coordinator for high‑risk or complex cases.
  • Ensure emergency encounters are documented according to program standards.
  • Maintain regular communication with the CCEC Summer Coordinator regarding student progress, site needs, and any concerns.
  • Provide weekly updates on student activities, supervision hours, and site operations.
  • Document supervision hours and activities for accreditation and program records.
  • Assist with preparation for fall practicum/internship processes as needed.
  • Perform additional tasks assigned by the School Director.
