About The Position

This position involves coordinating various security duties as assigned, including emergency response, incident reporting, facility security, and customer service. The Security Guard will be responsible for responding to alarms, managing access control, conducting patrols, and maintaining logs and records. This role requires adherence to security policies and instructions from the Security Supervisor.

Requirements

  • Valid Florida Driver's License
  • High School Diploma

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate emergency response of police, fire, EH&S, etc. for emergencies as needed.
  • Complete EH&S IIIR form for all injuries at VetMed.
  • Respond to fire alarms and other alarms at the facility.
  • Provide customer service interaction, both direct and indirect (in person, phone, email). Security Officers will be polite, professional, helpful, have a positive attitude, and demonstrate emotional intelligence in all customer interactions.
  • Perform facility lock-ups of the entire VetMed facility, including scan checkpoints.
  • Follow shift instructions, post orders, emails, and in-person instructions as outlined by the Security Supervisor and Security Policy.
  • Know and act on instructions and policies as provided by the Security Supervisor and Security Policy.
  • Operate, respond to, and report issues from the Genetec security camera surveillance system.
  • Notify Security Supervisor of any situation that adversely affects the safety or security of the facility.
  • Operate, respond to, and report issues from the Lenel security electronic door system.
  • Conduct facility safety patrols.
  • Manage Academic Visitor Parking.
  • Manage RV Parking.
  • Respond to Fire Alarms and other facility alarms for lab equipment, oxygen, nitrogen, freezers, etc.
  • Perform AV Inspections.
  • Lock/Unlock Doors as needed.
  • Handle Lost and Found Transactions.
  • Perform Work Order Inspections.
  • Perform Parking Lot Inspections.
  • Manage Gator 1 ID Badges.
  • Perform Clock Battery Maintenance.
  • Maintain Shift Logs, Event Logs, and Facility Lock Up Logs.
  • Perform Bicycle Inspections.
  • Enforce restricted access to BioHazard Bins.
  • Enforce restricted access to the Facility.
  • Perform Event Duties including but not limited to putting out/picking up signs, putting out/picking up parking barricades, locking/unlocking doors.
