About The Position
This position involves a variety of security-related duties to ensure the safety and security of the Vet Med facility. Responsibilities include emergency response, alarm response, customer service, facility lock-ups, operating security systems, conducting patrols, managing parking, and enforcing access restrictions. The role requires adherence to security policies and instructions from the Security Supervisor.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Florida driver's license
Nice To Haves
- Class D Florida License
- Experience in security
- Experience in customer service
- Computer skills for Microsoft Office Suite
Responsibilities
- Emergency response of police, fire, EH&S, etc. for emergencies as needed
- Completion of EH&S IIIR form for all injuries at Vet Med
- Response to fire alarms and other alarms at facility
- Customer Service Interaction both direct and indirect contact. In person, phone, email, etc. Security Officers will be polite, professional, helpful, have a positive attitude, and demonstrate emotional intelligence in all customer interactions.
- Facility Lock Ups of entire Vet Med facility including scan checkpoints.
- Shift Instructions, Post Orders, emails, and in person instruction as outline by Security Supervisor and Security Policy.
- Know and act on instructions and policies as provided by Security Supervisor and Security Policy.
- Operate, respond to, and report issues from the Genetec security camera surveillance system
- Security Supervisor notification for any situation that adversely affects the safety or security of the facility.
- Operate, respond to, and report issues from the Lenel security electronic door system
- Facility safety patrol
- Academic Visitor Parking
- RV Parking
- Respond to Fire Alarms, and other facility alarms for lab equipment, oxygen, nitrogen, freezers, etc.
- AV Inspections
- Lock / Unlock Doors as needed
- Lost and Found Transactions
- Work Order Inspections
- Parking Lot Inspections
- Gator 1 ID Badges
- Clock Battery Maintenance
- Shift Logs, Event Logs, and Facility Lock Up Logs
- Bicycle Inspections
- Enforce restricted access to Bio Hazard Bins
- Enforce restricted access to Facility
- Event Duties including but not limited to putting out / picking up signs, putting out / picking up parking barricades, locking / unlocking doors
