About The Position

The Production Operations Manager leads daily warehouse operations, including inbound, outbound, replenishment, and inventory control. The role is responsible for safe, efficient, and accurate performance while developing frontline teams and driving key performance indicators. The manager works with internal partners such as Transportation, Inventory, HR, and Safety to align priorities and support continuous improvement. All actions are expected to be consistent with KeHE’s Mission, Vision, and Values. This hands-on role oversees day-to-day execution across assigned shifts, supports staffing and training, monitors performance, and addresses operational challenges. The position requires flexible hours, including weekends and multiple shifts, to maintain warehouse performance and operational continuity. The work takes place in a distribution facility and includes access to dry, cooler, and freezer areas.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.
At least 4 years of experience in warehouse operations, production, or a related field.
At least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
Strong operational knowledge of end-to-end warehouse processes, including inbound, outbound, inventory, and safety.
Ability to produce and interpret data to guide performance and operational decisions.
Effective communication skills in one-on-one and team settings, including presenting to leadership and frontline associates.
Ability to coach, influence, and collaborate across functions and levels.
Interpersonal skills to build trust, resolve conflict, and lead in a team-based environment.
Situational leadership skills and ability to adapt leadership style to team dynamics and operational needs.
Strong analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to interpret policies and procedures and communicate them effectively to team members.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and warehouse management systems (WMS).
Ability to access all areas and levels of the distribution facility.
Flexibility to work varying shifts, including overnights and weekends, as needed.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and lift up to 50 pounds in a warehouse environment.
Ability to access all levels and areas of the facility, including rack systems and equipment platforms.
Willingness and ability to work in varying temperatures, including dry, cooler, and freezer conditions.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Supply Chain, or a related field.
Experience with Lean tools and continuous improvement methods, including root cause analysis, visual management, and Gemba walks.

Responsibilities

Lead day-to-day warehouse functions across assigned shifts to meet productivity, safety, quality, and service goals.
Plan daily shifts with leads and associates, assign workloads, and communicate expectations.
Conduct mid-shift checks and post-shift debriefs to monitor progress, resolve issues, and coach employees.
Ensure standard operating procedures and best practices are followed for picking, packing, shipping, receiving, and inventory accuracy.
Support warehouse safety and compliance initiatives through hands-on leadership and team engagement.
Coordinate with functional departments and leadership to address operational needs.
Monitor and analyze operational metrics to identify trends, improve performance, and promote accountability.
Support staffing, training, and cross-training efforts.
Lead initiatives to improve safety, accuracy, and operational efficiency.
Serve as an escalation point for operational challenges and implement short- and long-term corrective actions.
Work flexible hours, including weekends and multiple shifts, to support warehouse performance and continuity.
Perform other assigned duties and projects.
