About The Position

This is a full-time Other Personal Services (OPS) position with the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Division of Administration, Bureau of Personnel Management. The role provides various support to the Benefits and Compensation Section, including performing testing activities for system transitions, processing Personnel Action Requests (PARs), assisting with leave payouts and payroll processing, and scanning/uploading documents to employee personnel files.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or its equivalent
  • One (1) year of work experience in human resources, administrative, customer service, or clerical support.
  • Knowledge of human resources practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of office practices and procedures.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and security of sensitive and personal information.
  • Proficient in using databases, electronic files, and Microsoft Office Programs (i.e. Word, Outlook, Excel, and Teams).
  • Ability to compile and analyze data.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally, and in writing.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • Must pass a background screening, including fingerprinting, as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform testing activities to support the agency’s transition from the Florida Accounting Information Resource system (FLAIR) to the Florida Planning, Accounting and Ledger Management system (FL PALM).
  • Process Personnel Action Requests (PARS) such as new hires, promotions, demotions, reassignment, pay changes, and employee separations.
  • Assist with processing various leave payouts. Monitor and confirm payouts in FLAIR to ensure employees are paid accurately.
  • Provide backup assistance with processing bi-weekly and supplemental payrolls and generating various payroll related reports for distribution.
  • Scan or upload Payroll and Attendance and Leave related documents to employee personnel files in OnBase.
  • Assist with other special projects and assignments as needed.
