About The Position

This is an excellent opportunity for a self-motivated, hard-working individual to fill an OPS Park Attendant position at Ruth B. Kirby Gilchrist Blue Springs State Park. This position is centered on the day-to-day park operations. The successful candidate will be required to perform various duties including the following: cabin and facilities cleaning, park maintenance, grounds keeping, park protection, visitor services. This is a part-time, temporary position working 29 hours per week. The selected candidate will be required to work rotating shifts to include evenings, weekends, and holidays. This position does not include health benefits or paid leave. Opportunities will exist for additional training and experience.

Requirements

  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Work rotating shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Knowledge of maintenance trades
  • Knowledge of resource management techniques
  • Knowledge of providing top-notch visitor services through the cleanliness and maintenance of facilities and high-quality visitor contact experience
  • Skills in computer applications such as Microsoft Office
  • Skills in computer usage to be able to fill in short reports and communicate effectively with internal emails and timesheets
  • Skills in operating trucks, tractors, operating mowers, standard power, and manual tools
  • Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, holidays, and weekends
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing
  • Ability to perform physical labor and janitorial duties
  • Ability to use power/electrical/gas tools and equipment
  • Ability to maintain good public relations
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
  • Ability to understand and apply directives, policies, laws, and regulations
