About The Position

This position is responsible for coordinating and providing operational and procedural support to the Division of Children’s Medical Services, Bureau of Early Steps and Newborn Screening, Newborn Hearing Screening Program, and reports to the General and Operations Manager I, Quality Assurance and Training Unit Supervisor. The incumbent in this position must be able to work independently, must have the ability to organize and prioritize workload, engage in collaborative problem-solving, must be capable of ensuring continuity of work in the absence of supervision, and demonstrate sound judgement and initiative in the performance of these duties.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in one of the following: Public Health, Epidemiology, Healthcare Administration, or a related degree.
  • One year professional experience in a hospital, clinic or public health agency in a patient care environment.
  • One year experience working in a hospital, physician’s office, medical facility, and/or public health office analyzing health information and preparing statistical reports
  • One year of professional experience preparing and presenting health-related information to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support for the monthly hearing screening reporting process led by the Hearing Screening Resource Coordinator for hospitals, birthing centers, and primary care physicians.
  • Complete the linking process in collaboration with the Health Data Analyst within established timeframes.
  • Review hospital responses to the monthly reports and complete necessary corrections within established timeframes.
  • Enter and monitor hearing and CMV screening information and complete actions, including printing/sending letters, monitoring logs in Excel and daily case closures within the Early Hearing Detection and Intervention (EHDI) system.
  • Provide guidance to program staff on complex cases during routine reviews.
  • Provide support for the electronic screening and diagnostic reporting system, eReports.
  • Establish new user accounts and password resets, as necessary.
  • Provide technical assistance, orientation, and support for eReports users.
  • Reach out via email and phone to screening providers, audiologists, and primary care physicians to encourage electronic reporting of results.
  • Participate in planning and implementation of continuous quality improvement program activities.
  • Participate in various workgroups, meetings and conferences related to newborn hearing issues or as assigned, which may require travel.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Serve as backup for other Newborn Hearing Screening Program staff.
