About The Position

The Florida Department of Environmental Protection, Division of Recreation and Parks (Florida State Parks), is seeking a well-organized individual with the ability to effectively work with others as a team member with the volunteer and citizen support organization (CSO) program. Florida State Parks span the entire state with 176 state parks and trails. This position is part of the team charged with connecting parks with volunteers and supporting the CSOs with tools to raise funds for the improvement of Florida State Parks. This position may be scheduled for up to 40 hours per week. Success in this position requires a dynamic individual capable of working on multiple projects simultaneously, easily adapting to change and possessing a true spirit of teamwork and service.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the backup super user for the department's primary volunteer database system, assisting in the oversight of a database with over 30,000 active profiles.
  • Serve as backup for all CSO annual reporting requirements.
  • Serve as the backup liaison between the division and the Park Program Development Specialists.
  • Serves as the backup for procurement and delivery of stock items to remote parks.
  • Assists with the conducting of periodic management reviews of selected CSOs and their practices.
  • Assists in planning the Annual CSO Workshop, volunteer awards events and programs, and collection of CSO audit documentation.
  • Review and recommend to the statewide volunteer & CSO coordinator, administrative policies, procedures, guidelines and related directives to be implemented concerning CSOs and volunteers.
  • Provide advanced technical assistance and troubleshooting support to park system field managers confronting complex volunteer database issues.
  • Monitor administrative pipeline data to ensure all incoming district reports and programmatic information are received on time and without errors.
  • Pull and compile various performance and compliance reports directly from the SharePoint Dashboard to monitor operational trends.
  • Analyze collected data and formulate structured, data-driven recommendations to management for process changes and program improvements.
  • Provide management with regular, comprehensive updates regarding active projects, program metrics, and upcoming administrative or legislative reports due.
  • Create and maintain email templates for reminders, deadlines, action items, etc.
  • Create and maintain guides for CSO website content and maintenance.
  • Create and maintain user desk guides.
