About The Position
Keeps buildings at P.K. Yonge sanitized and in orderly condition. Relies predominantly on instructions and pre-established department and CDC guidelines, but some job functions may require exercising some independent judgement. Works under general supervision. Reports directly to Custodial Supervisor.
Requirements
- Completion of ninth grade
- Valid Driver's license
- Level 2 DCF Background check required

Responsibilities
- Service, clean, or supply restrooms
- Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming
- Gather and empty trash
- Clean windows, glass partitions, or mirrors
- Dust furniture, walls, machines, or equipment
- Clean and polish furniture and fixtures
- Clear debris from classrooms, walkways, sidewalks, and entrances
- Clean spills and other hazards with appropriate equipment
- Mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications
- Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures
- Assist, as needed, in delivery of shipments throughout campus
- Monitor, clean and supply assigned work stations, including janitorial closets
- Move furniture, equipment, or supplies, either manually or by using hand trucks
- Set up, arrange, or remove decorations, tables, chairs, ladders, or scaffolding to prepare facilities for events, such as banquets or meetings
- Drive vans, industrial trucks, or other vehicles required to travel to or to perform facility needs
