About The Position

The UF Center for Autism and Related Disabilities is looking for an Assistive Technology Coordinator to primarily provide assistive technology (AT) to people with disabilities who live in the North Central Regional Demonstration Center (RDC) service area. This role performs AT services as outlined in the Florida Alliance for Assistive Services and Technology (FAAST) contract agreement. This position is part-time and there must be a willingness to travel.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field, OR education AND experience that demonstrates success in the essential functions of the position.
  • Experience working with people with disabilities.
  • 3-5 years of experience with Information Technology Systems
  • Must have a reliable means of transportation and willingness to travel, as travel is a requirement of this position
  • High attention to detail and ability to create thorough and detailed reports
  • Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Facilitation and presentation skills
  • High customer service skills
  • Ability to function as a team player
  • Must have a Valid driver's license

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Therapeutic Services (i.e., occupational therapy, speech therapy, and physical rehabilitation)

Responsibilities

  • Provides AT device demonstrations, loans, training, and information and assistance.
  • Maintains an accurate and up-to-date inventory list of AT devices.
  • Responds to requests for services promptly.
  • Develops and conducts programmatic outreach activities.
  • Maintains and updates local, state, and federal resources to enhance independence outcomes.
  • Maintains a professional and positive attitude.
  • Complies with all policies and procedures per the FAAST Contract Agreement.
  • Actively participates in all staff meetings, training opportunities, and other activities as required.
  • Ensures compliance by following established policies and procedures outlined in the FAAST grant.
  • Ensure confidential handling of all consumer information.
  • Maintains accurate and current data and information within FAAST databases.
  • Collects, compiles, and submits all required data elements for programmatic reports per the FAAST Contract Agreement.
