The OPS Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Specialist is responsible for working in the Clinical Health Services Division. The incumbent will work under the Medical Services program, as well as various programmatic areas when needed within the scope of Agency protocols, State and Federal Guidelines. The medical competence, medical judgment and general practice of medicine will be evaluated through peer review. Monitoring and oversight will include, but is not limited to, an established quality improvement process with ongoing chart review. The APRN’s immediate supervisor is functionally responsible for evaluation of all standards and expectations and will facilitate access to medical consultations as needed. This position is classified as PRN, meaning work hours are not guaranteed and are provided based on program and staffing needs. Hours are generally available only during the school calendar and school operating hours; no hours are available during school breaks, holidays, or any period when school is not in session.
