About The Position

In support of the Environmental Public Health unit at Florida Health in Manatee County, this role serves as the main point of contact for the front of the unit office area. The position involves processing applications, handling payments, managing the unit cash drawer, and maintaining records. It also requires developing constructive working relationships, communicating effectively in writing and orally, researching and obtaining supplies, and maintaining facility data accuracy in databases.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems
  • Knowledge of computer software including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft TEAMS and more
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to learn and communicate effectively, orally and in writing, in English

Responsibilities

  • Maintains approachable workstation and serves as the main point of contact for the front of the unit office area
  • Processes all initial and renewal applications into Environmental Health Database
  • Answers all incoming phone calls, transfers to the appropriate staff member, or answers questions on behalf of the department
  • Monitors and responds to all voicemails left in the general mailbox for the department
  • Takes in person, online or mailed in payments
  • Is responsible for the unit cash drawer on a daily basis and following all fiscal procedures
  • Follows proper procedures for the intake of community sharps disposals
  • Files, maintains, arranges for storage, retrieves or reproduces documents, records, and reports
  • Developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with others, both internal to the organization and externally
  • Communicating effectively with others in writing as indicated by the needs of the audience
  • Talking to others to effectively convey information
  • Knowing how to find, identify and communicate essential information
  • Researching, purchasing, obtaining and auditing supplies and resources needed on behalf of the unit
  • Maintains accuracy of facility data in databases, such as the Environmental Public Health database
