About The Position

Denver Health is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Ophthalmologist to join their team as an Intermittent/PRN Ophthalmologist. This role involves covering patient care and supervising ophthalmology residents on an as-needed basis. The position includes teaching and supervising residents in a resident-run clinic, potentially including subspecialty clinics like retina and glaucoma. Experience teaching and supervising residents in the operating room, particularly with cataract surgery, is a plus. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys teaching, working with diverse patient populations, and is committed to caring for underserved and marginalized patients. Requirements

  • Graduation from an Accredited Medical School and completed Accredited Residency Programs and fellowships for specialist, or equivalent required.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible.
  • Medical license to practice in State of Colorado required.
  • BLS-Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) - AHA - American Heart Association Required.
  • MD-Physician - State Medical Board Required.
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply professional medical principles, procedures and techniques.
  • Thorough knowledge of pharmacological agents used in patient treatment.
  • Able to effectively manage and direct medical staff support activities while providing quality medical care.
  • Able to receive detailed information through oral communications; express or exchange ideas by verbal communications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications, listening, and social skills.
  • Able to interact effectively with people of varied educational, socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds, skill levels and value systems.
  • Performs in a tactful and professional manner.
  • Computer skill required - Proficient in Outlook and general EHR functionality.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with the Epic EHR platform.
  • Ability to teach and supervise residents in the operating room, particularly with cataract surgery.
