About The Position

Provide comprehensive patient care including specialized ophthalmic testing, triage and patient teaching. Perform basic and routine eye examination procedures to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases and problems. Explain diagnostic and treatment procedures to patients.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree OR equivalent training acquired via work experience or education
  • Ophthalmic Technician Program
  • Less than one year of previous job-related experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge and hands-on experience in manual refraction and applanation tonometry to support comprehensive ophthalmic care.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.
  • Unable to sponsor an employment visa for this position.

Nice To Haves

  • At least one (1) year of previous job-related experience, highly preferred.
  • After graduation from an ophthalmic technician education course, staff in the Ophthalmic Assistant position are required to become certified ophthalmic assistants within the first year of employment.
