About The Position

The Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group (MAPMG) is seeking a specialist in Ophthalmology at their Caton Hill Medical Center. MAPMG is a physician-led group of over 1,800 physicians in Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, D.C., exclusively serving Kaiser Permanente patients. The group emphasizes long-term health, prevention, and effective disease diagnosis and treatment, supported by a comprehensive electronic health record (EHR) and a commitment to research and innovation. Physicians at MAPMG earn competitive salaries and are not compensated based on individual services. The role involves treating approximately 21 patients per day in 20-minute appointments, with about 2.5 days per month dedicated to operating room procedures. The position offers the opportunity to care for a large and diverse patient population from the tri-state area, with surgical cases limited only by the physician's experience and comfort level. Collaboration with subspecialists within Kaiser and the academic community is also a key aspect of the role.

Requirements

• MD or DO
• Board Certified or Eligible in Ophthalmology
• Currently licensed or able to obtain licenses in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia

Nice To Haves

• Fellowship training in uveitis, glaucoma or cornea preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Treat approximately 21 patients per day in 20-minute appointments
• Spend approximately 2.5 days per month in the operating room (varies by patient load)
• Care for a wide variety of ophthalmology patients
• Perform surgical cases limited by experience and comfort level
• Collaborate with subspecialists within Kaiser and in the Academic community
• Practice patient-centered, culturally competent medical care
