About The Position

The Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group (MAPMG) is seeking a specialist in Ophthalmology at their North Arundel Medical Center. MAPMG is a physician-led group of over 1,800 physicians serving Kaiser Permanente patients in Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, D.C. They focus on long-term health, prevention, and effective treatment of diseases, supported by a comprehensive electronic health record (EHR) and a commitment to research and innovation. Physicians at MAPMG earn competitive salaries and are not compensated based on individual services. The role involves treating approximately 21 patients per day in 20-minute appointments, with about 2.5 days per month in the operating room. The position offers a large patient population from the tri-state area, the opportunity to manage a wide variety of ophthalmology cases, and collaboration with subspecialists within Kaiser and the academic community.

Requirements

MD or DO
Board Certified or Eligible in Ophthalmology
Currently licensed or able to obtain licenses in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia

Nice To Haves

Fellowship training in uveitis, glaucoma or cornea preferred but not required

Responsibilities

Treat approximately 21 patients per day in 20-minute appointments
Spend approximately 2.5 days per month in the operating room (varies by patient load)
Care for a wide variety of ophthalmology patients
Perform surgical cases limited by experience and comfort level
Collaborate with subspecialists within Kaiser and in the Academic community
Practice patient-centered, culturally competent medical care
Communicate thoughtfully (listen, educate, advocate)
Lead with integrity
