About The Position

The Department of Ophthalmology at Mayo Clinic in Florida is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible ophthalmologist with fellowship training in surgical retina to join our growing team of 15 faculty members. This is a faculty position with opportunities and expectations for research as well as medical student, resident, and fellow teaching. Mayo Clinic is a non-profit, physician-led, multi-specialty tertiary care institution with integrated clinical practice, education, and research across campuses in Minnesota, Arizona, and Florida as well as the Mayo Clinic Health System. Requirements

  • MD degree with completion of an accredited ophthalmology residency.
  • Fellowship training in vitreoretinal diseases and surgery.
  • Board-certified or board-eligible in ophthalmology.
  • Eligible for licensure in the state of Florida.

Responsibilities

  • Provide specialized care for diseases and surgery of the posterior segment.
  • Collaborate with other services to manage multidisciplinary cases.
  • Participate in clinical trials and implementation of protocols.
  • Engage in academic activities including teaching medical students, residents and fellows and fostering basic science and clinical research.
