The technician will receive calls not handled by patient intake, decide on the appropriate course of action, potentially speak with a doctor, and execute the plan, which may include making appointments or calling in prescriptions. They will also act as an information desk, schedule return appointments, monitor task baskets, process pharmacy requests, and follow up on outside lab work. Additionally, the role involves managing doctor-to-doctor and doctor-to-patient calls, monitoring schedules for changes, and maintaining a sample drug log.
