About The Position

Join Our Growing Ophthalmology Team as an Ophthalmic Technician! This is a per diem position, requiring 12 to 16 hours per week (approximately 1.5 days per week), and may also involve seasonal work as needed. Your Impact: You will elevate patient care by working closely with our ophthalmologists to gather comprehensive patient information, ensuring accurate diagnoses and personalized treatment plans. You will master ophthalmic testing by conducting thorough preliminary examinations, including visual acuity and pupillary responses. You will perform advanced diagnostics such as OCT, perimetry, and ophthalmic photography. Additionally, you will assist ophthalmologists during minor surgeries, laser procedures, and crosslinking. You will streamline patient flow in clinic and imaging rooms, collaborating with clinical staff, and administer eye drops (certification required). You will also contribute to clinic efficiency by performing clinical and administrative tasks, ensuring a smooth and organized workflow.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an Ophthalmic Technician.
  • Knowledge of medical office procedures.
  • Ability to perform indirect activities, administrative tasks and any other assigned duties that contribute to the efficient & high-quality performance of the medical practice.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) Certification.
