About The Position

Join Our Growing Ophthalmology Team as an Ophthalmic Technician! This is a per diem position with 12 to 16 hours per week (1.5 days per week) and/or seasonal as needed. You will elevate patient care by working closely with ophthalmologists to gather comprehensive patient information, ensuring accurate diagnoses and personalized treatment plans. You will master ophthalmic testing by conducting thorough preliminary examinations, including visual acuity and pupillary responses. You will also perform advanced diagnostics such as OCT, perimetry, and ophthalmic photography, and assist ophthalmologists during minor surgeries, laser procedures, and crosslinking. Additionally, you will streamline patient flow in clinic and imaging rooms, collaborate with clinical staff, and administer eye drops (certification required). You will contribute to clinic efficiency by performing clinical and administrative tasks, ensuring a smooth and organized workflow.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an Ophthalmic Technician.
  • Knowledge of medical office procedures.
  • Ability to perform indirect activities, administrative tasks and any other assigned duties that contribute to the efficient & high-quality performance of the medical practice.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • A passion for patient care and a commitment to excellence.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

  • Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) Certification.

Responsibilities
