About The Position

Albemarle Eye Center is seeking a self-motivated Ophthalmic Technician with a strong work ethic to join its successful surgical practice. The role requires a positive, professional attitude; the ability to build strong connections with patients and treat them with warmth and empathy; and a team-oriented approach. The successful candidate will learn quickly and apply complex concepts in daily work. The role involves ophthalmic technician skills, including scribing, patient work-up, vision testing, refracting, using medical terminology, assisting the physician in the room, and performing visual field and OCT testing. The position is full-time and requires travel to other locations. Albemarle Eye Center provides ophthalmic services at locations in Edenton, Elizabeth City, Kinston, Kitty Hawk, and Washington. Its services include LASIK laser eye surgery, LenSx® laser cataract removal, oculoplastics, glaucoma treatment, routine eye exams, and contact lens fittings.

Requirements

Experience in a professional environment with a strong customer service focus.
High school education or equivalent.
Positive professional attitude and strong work ethic.
Ability to develop strong connections with patients and treat them with warmth and empathy.
Team-oriented approach.
Ability to learn quickly and apply complex concepts to daily work.
Skills in scribing, patient work-up, vision testing, refracting, medical terminology, physician assistance, visual field testing, and OCT testing.
