About The Position

Reporting to the clinic manager the incumbent is responsible for providing administrative and clerical support. The position requires a high level of professionalism, attention to detail, strong work ethic, and the ability to work well under pressure in a high-volume clinical practice. The incumbent will work closely with other healthcare professionals, including but not limited to; physicians, nurses and ophthalmic technicians to provide high quality care to all patients.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 1-3 years of clinical assistant/clerk experience.
  • Effective communicator with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage confidential information.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Familiarity with the pharmaceutical or Ophthalmology industry.

Responsibilities

  • Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Superior communication skills, particularly verbal, with excellent “bedside manner”, professionalism, and active listening
  • Knowledge of EMRs and MS Office suite of applications
  • Very organized, with attention to detail
  • Experience with a number of diagnostic tools such as IOLMaster and tests, including topography, refraction, slit lamp examination, lensometry, auto-refraction, visual acuity, fundus photography, tonometry, OCT testing of the retina, biometry, orb scan, lens star, iTrace.
  • Patience, approachability and calm demeanor
  • Ability to manage patient expectations and concerns
  • Assist with other duties as assigned by the manager
